By jbarney Welcome to the Pender Humane Society’s fundraising campaign. We are a NO- KILL shelter located in Burgaw, North Carolina, dedicated to improving the lives of homeless and unwanted animals by providing shelter and medical care while finding loving and responsible permanent homes. We work to prevent cruelty and overpopulation among dogs and cats and to help assist and educate the public about responsible pet care. We rescue animals from Pender and surrounding counties. We are not funded by any Federal, State, or Local entities, and rely primarily on donations to operate the Shelter. The past 18 months have been very difficult for fundraising due to COVID-19 restrictions on in-person events, and the Shelter NEEDS donations to continue operation. We are offering you the opportunity to donate a lump sum payment, or to donate on a monthly basis, all through our DONATE button, or start your own Fundraising effort!
By jbarney Pender County Humane Society Is Hiring People with a Heart for Animals Calling all animal lovers looking for part time employment! The Pender County Humane Society (PCHS), the only NO KILL Shelter in the area, is in need of workers to continue to provide a safe, clean, healthy environment for our furry friends until they can find their “FUREVER” homes. The shelter needs part time workers who can help feed the animals, walk the dogs, play with the cats, and clean the kennels and litter boxes. They also need help with basic chores, such as loading and unloading supplies from their van, helping with the materials, washing floors, etc. Most importantly, they need people who have a soft spot for dogs and cats, and who are willing to jump in and help with their many needs.
By jbarney If you are planning to visit our shelter, please call 910-259-7022 before venturing out. Due to the current situation and staffing shortages we are not always able to adhere to our posted hours. We love to have visitors and apologize for this inconvenience.
