We are dedicated to improving the lives of homeless and unwanted animals by providing shelter and medical care while finding loving and responsible permanent homes. We work to prevent cruelty and overpopulation among dogs and cats and to help assist and educate the public about responsible pet care.
All animals at the Pender County Humane Society are vet checked, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworms, and up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to adoption. Cats are also tested for feline leukemia. Adoption fees are $150 for purebred dogs, $125 for mixed breed dogs, and $75 for cats. The adoption costs cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, medical needs, and vet testing fees. Please contact our shelter manager for adoption requirements and information about volunteering at the shelter at 910.259.7022.
